Layers Volumes Light

Abramson Teiger Architects

Abramson Teiger Architects design sculptural and light-filled modern homes, institutional and cultural buildings, and commercial spaces. The architects specialize in contemporary designs that bring the legacy of Southern California mid-century architecture into the present day. Headed by Trevor Abramson, FAIA, and Douglas Teiger, AIA, the award-winning Los Angeles firm designs dynamic structures of wood, glass, concrete, stone, and steel, with stripped-down forms and expansive windows that create a strong indoor/outdoor connection. Sustainability is an important aspect of their work, which often incorporates new materials that promote thermal stability, bodies of water for evaporative cooling, and a strong focus on natural light.

Among the projects featured in this book is the sculptural Sinnott residence, the striking contemporary home in ABC’s hit television show “Modern Family” and the soaring First Presbyterian Church in Encino, California, winner of multiple design awards from the American Institute of Architects.

Layers Volumes Light: Abramson Teiger Architects features an introduction by renowned architecture critic Joseph Giovannini.
